True to Splunk’s roots as a security tool, Splunk at Illinois started out as an exploration of the Security team ca. 2014 … and has evolved in to an essential tool not only for growing the institution’s Security Maturity index, but for helping service managers and researchers turn bits-and-bytes to awareness, insight, decision-support, and automation.
Splunk at Illinois is now a hybrid solution including a brokered Splunk Cloud service, and both AWS and on-premises virtual machines. Staffed and managed as a full service, we are working as an integral piece (with an emphasis on real-time, event-based data) of the overall data management and data analytics profile of the University of Illinois system.
